There are many reasons for adding widgets to your blog. Widgets are elements that extract the services or content from other sites. These can be useful such as reference and news. Others are fun and games. Either of these applications will allow you to make your blog much more interesting and promote interaction among your readers. These widgets are third party generated and are now all over many sites and used by bloggers, auction sites, personal sites and social network users. Here are three reasons why you should use widgets in a blog.
- Reason number one is that these widgets enhance the web experience for visitors. These widgets can make a not so good site come alive with interaction. A site that has these types of interactions among visitors will have visitors coming to the site again and again, if the widgets are fun and thought provoking. By having interactive content on your site, you will be able to keep visitors there for longer than if you didn’t have interactive media on your site. You can use these widgets to inform, entertain and promote all at the same time.
- Reason number two is that this can be used for corporations to improve their web sites by using functionality and syndicated content from other parties. This is one way to keep a corporate blog fresh and constantly updated with content that is content rich as well as fresh and new. This content can also be used to inform of latest news and updates for the corporation. Services such as time and weather widgets are a time saver. Map widgets make it easy for customers to find you. RSS feed widgets can also be used to keep both customers and visitors updated.
- Reason number three is that widgets are also a form of advertising and are being looked at as a replacement for text ads. These types of widgets can be found in search engines and are slowly taking the place of the text ads. This is a more cost effective way to advertise than the traditional method of advertising. This can also be used as an addition of viral distribution; however some have criticized them as ineffective. This is a way to do marketing on site, by having custom widgets created just for that purpose.
One thing to bear in mind when dealing with widgets is they can be used for not so nice purposes like the secret crush widget that got users to install malware or adware on their computers. So the correct choice of widgets also makes a huge amount of difference, since getting malwares and adwares shouldn’t be the twin package you get with widgets, then it’ll become similar to getting side effects, like for example you take medicine for fever and end up getting headache. Widgets add glamour to your blog and are something to consider when you are starting with a blog, whether or not it is personal or professional; these add a great deal to a blog and can be found mostly anywhere.

widgets are a good way to entice your blog love the position that you took.
While widgets can enhance the user experience they can also accomplish the opposite and totally ruin the user interaction. I’d say use them, but always with the user in mind.
Widgets do add to the experience but they can also take away from it. I see blogs that have way too many installed and the sidebar(s) are so cluttered that the site is un-navigable. Choose the ones you want to use carefully and do not go overboard.
