Business men prefer using cell phones for many of their business purposes. With the cell phones, one can get ready for the meeting while on the go. When the data in cell phones are needed in other mobile devices, you just have to spend a few minutes to transfer large chunks of data.

Cell phones can be connected to your PC and you can access data present in both devices using software in your computer. You can connect your cell phone to your computer using USB cable, IR connection, and Bluetooth. Nowadays, IR connection is not used widely. You can use Bluetooth to connect two mobile devices that use Bluetooth technology. This feature allows you to bypass the price you have to pay for your service provider for transferring data.

GPRS allows you to transfer data from the web to your cell phones in a few minutes. 2G mobiles offer data transfer rates of 56 kbps to up to 114 kbps depending on the service provider. 3G equipments are much faster and with a reliable service provider, you can experience a speed of 384 kbps when you are stationery and 128 kbps while you move in a car. These high speed data transfers help you to surf the net using your cell phones. In the present world, if you have the latest smart phone on your hands, you can simply forget about your computer and laptop for carrying out essential business tasks.

While several service providers provide data transfer services using GPRS, you have to choose your plan based on the allowed amount of data transfer. Certain service providers restrict the total amount of data that you can transfer using your cell phones. When you exceed this limit, you have to pay extra fees for every kilobyte you transfer. However, several providers are increasing the maximum limit because customers are expecting reliable GPRS services at a low price.

  9. It is pretty impossible to get by in a civilized society without a cell phone at hand. It’s hard to believe these devices have entered our lives for almost two decades now. The cell phones truly revolutionized our communication system.

  10. The cost of data transfer is coming down with competition, and look for companies offering unlimited downloads, however they may have some fine print that if you have too much data transfer they can change your plan. One other tip, when looking for a Smart cell phone don’t just assume the great deal that T-mobile or Sprint, etc is such a great deal. For example I saw today the exact same phone offered by T-Mobile a Blackberry 9000 – the price through T-Mobile directly was $199, which was after you had to send in a $100 rebate. The price at Wal-mart was $79.95 with no rebate to send in.
