Really handy – it’s one of the frustrating things about the iPhone – the better it gets, the less time the battery lasts! This is probably going to be the biggest bottleneck as far as development of Smart Phone goes – the need to be able to power all that functionality!

“Don’t leave your phone out in a sunny or hot day as this minimizes the battery life”. Why, how?
You should actually try and completely drain and recharge the battery at every opportunity to increase battery life and not just once a month.

Leaving a battery in the sun will definitely decrease its life, since hot temperature damages the battery cells and make their lives shorter.

Excessive heat can drain a battery, but excessive cold can also drain a battery. If you use your phone for emailing, excessive emailing and other forms of data transfer can put a big demand on battery life. Probably the best method to keep your phone in operating condition is to have more than one battery at the ready.

I have a twin sim mobile phone and the battery life from the beginning wasn’t great but I get about 20 minutes of actual talk time before I have to recharge. I have tried the freezing method and it didn’t work. I now have to take my battery charger with me everywhere or buy a new phone!

so basically turn off/don’t use all the functions that make the iphone the iphone, rendering it no better than a regular cell phone.. and your battery life will be better, but still half the battery life of a regular phone. brilliant.

Lower the brightness settings in the iPhone and set Auto-Brightness to on. A few hours in direct sunlight will cause the battery to get excessively hot and can damage the battery.
