Leaving a battery in the sun will definitely decrease its life, since hot temperature damages the battery cells and make their lives shorter.
Excessive heat can drain a battery, but excessive cold can also drain a battery. Lower the brightness settings in the iPhone and set Auto-Brightness to on. A few hours in direct sunlight will cause the battery to get excessively hot and can damage the battery.
I agree that technology is taking a larger and larger chunk out of all of our days. Sometimes we just need to live more simply, both to recharge our batteries and to get some proper perspective on the situations we find ourselves in. I liked your idea of setting a certain time for technology use, I’ll give it a go. Thanks for the blog!
